Hi, I’m Brennah.

Welcome to my site. I hope you have a nice stay and a nice day!

On being witchy

On being witchy

Being a witch is something I’m starting to claim more these days. For years I was too shy with claiming this truth, this way of seeing, this identity.

Witchy to me denotes queer, other, artist, person on the edge, the fringe. Witchy is dark, shadowy, yet lit up, moon-like in its phases, conscious to other realms, sensitive, in touch with nature.

Witchy is deep, earnest, elementally in touch. Witchy is the not-self and the Self seen from the lens of consciousness. Witchy is listening weirdly (in the original sense, to go one’s own way) to the wind and the rain and the season’s pull. Did I say, Of the Earth? Witchy is that too.

I feel more confident now to stand up and say:

“Yeah, I’m a witch. What of it?”

What does this mean, you may ask, in a culture that sometimes still demonizes witches, caricatures them, removes them from polite society?

Well to me being a witch means I’ve always got one foot in the world of the seen and one in the world of the unseen (I could say this about being an artist as well). It means I make meaning with the metaphors and poetry of nature. It means I create meaning and solace where there was once only darkness.

It means I use my sensitivity to create the answer to the question of a unique mission.

To me being a witch means not always being understood but being deeply plugged in to my value and purpose. It means healing continually, meeting new layers always, instead of staying in the small, dim house of the unexplored heart.

My magick is inherently healing, opening and it is always for the highest good of all.

When I gather in sacred space, when I get quiet and tune in, I can feel Source with me. This is the place from which I like to create what I call magick.

(In fact I’m writing this at 4:18am in the darkness before the sun when only source is awake.)

This holy time of morning.

Being a witch is something I’m starting to claim more these days. As I heal my witch wounding I am able to more fully show up with all of my gorgeous parts and pieces, fully whole.

So…where my fellow witches at?!?

How does your magick show up for you?

How long have you been practicing?

When did the journey start?

Reach out and let’s connect over shared magick!
