Need a Reset this Fall?

The changing of the seasons throughout the wheel of the year is a unique opportunity to slow down, reflect and reset.

For many, fall is a time of transition—a chance to shed old layers and ground yourself before the busy bustle of the holiday season and then the retreat into winter’s cave.

One of the most powerful ways to reconnect with your inner self during this time is to retreat into nature.

Mud Lotus Arts and Soundtree Journey will be hosting our final retreat of the year in nature on November 1st, 2nd and 3rd. This final retreat will be creekside at The Wandering Path in Milton, FL.

So, if you’re feeling overwhelmed, burnt out, or simply in need of a break, here are five compelling reasons why The Re-Source Retreat Nov 1st, 2nd & 3rd may be for you!

1. Unplug from the Noise

In our hyper-connected world, it's easy to feel overwhelmed by the constant notifications, work pressures and social obligations that come into our lives. A weekend at The Wandering Path offers a precious opportunity to unplug from it all. Away from the distractions of modern technology, you can give your mind the space it craves to be still and at peace with the ancient “technologies” of nature and the breath.

Nature’s quiet allows for a deep kind of reflection (Svadhyaya in yoga)—one that helps you disconnect from the outside world and reconnect with your higher self. Whether you're hiking through the pine wooded trails, camping in a yurt or under the stars, or simply sitting by the creek, the stillness of nature offers a sanctuary for your thoughts. It’s in this peace that one can truly begin to reset and find clarity.

2. Rejuvenate with Fresh Air & Movement

There’s a reason that even short nature walks are known to improve mood and reduce stress! As we know, the outdoors have a powerful impact on both the mind and body. The Re-source Retreat provides your mind, body and spirit with an opportunity to recharge in a deep way. Fresh air will fill you up while gentle movement—through yoga and leisurely strolls — will get your blood flowing.

Physical activity in nature can be more restorative and less taxing. Our two yoga practices will be extremely gentle on purpose. Also on retreat walks, you’re moving without the pressure of performance, you can allow your body to tune into its natural rhythms. The clean, invigorating air always helps me to clear my head and the sun’s rays and the prana (lifeforce) all around replenishes my energy every time. By the time you leave this experience, you'll feel physically lighter from our time. You’ll also feel more in tune with your body and with nature.

3. Nourish Your Mind & Body with Whole Foods

Nature has a way of reminding us about the importance of simplicity and this extends to the foods we choose to consume as well. When we “retreat” into nature, it’s the perfect time to return to basics by nourishing the body with organic, whole foods. By focusing on organic, plant-forward, nutrient-dense meals, the body is provided with the fuel it needs to heal, detox, and thrive.

Wholesome meals prepared with love in nature take on a totally different energy!! These foods are not just nourishment, they are also a total celebration of nature’s abundance. A weekend dedicated to eating as well as we can allows our digestive systems to reset, leaving us feeling refreshed, light, and fully recharged. Kala Bloxham (of littlebylittle.love) will be our chef for the weekend. This will be Kala’s fifth time supporting me with food on a retreat. She prepares our food with so much care, love, attention and intention. I am delighted to have her on the team again!! Kala will also be offering a “Creativity in the Kitchen” Playshop, I can’t wait!!

4. Reconnect with the Rhythms of Nature

Modern life often disconnects us from the natural world, but spending time creekside in the forest reminds us of the earth’s (and our own) natural rhythms. Sunrises, sunsets, the gentle sway of trees and the sound of flowing water help to ground us in the present moment. Nature encourages us to slow down and observe the subtle changes happening around us—and within us. It is such a gift to be able to fully drop in for a time, especially on the gorgeous property of The Wandering Path. There is beauty virtually everywhere you look there. It’s wonderful.

By aligning our own rhythms with nature’s, we can experience a profound sense of balance and calm. During this weekend in nature, you’ll rise with the sun, eat with the light, and wind down as the day fades. This reconnection with natural rhythms helps reset our internal clocks, improving sleep patterns, reducing stress, and bringing a sense of peace that lingers long after the retreat is over.

5. Relaxation Through Energy Work & Sound

Practices such as sound healing, meditation, and energy work amplify the natural healing properties of the outdoors and we will do all of them on this retreat. Sound healing, in particular, uses vibrations to align your energy and clear any blockages that may be causing stress or imbalance. When performed out in the open air, beneath the sky, this practice takes on an even more profound effect. We will have a creekside sound bath Friday night with 3 practitioners and another Saturday night with handpan, didgeridoo, crystal bowls and more.

Energy healing works similarly, allowing the earth’s energy to support your body’s natural healing processes. Coupled with mindful practices like yoga and breathwork, these healing modalities provide a holistic reset that soothes your mind, body, and spirit.

A weekend retreat is more than just a break from the routine—it’s an invitation to reset, restore, and reconnect with what truly matters to you.

As the fall season unfolds slowly here in Florida, take advantage of this time to nourish yourself with fresh air, amazingly nourishing food, mindful and gentle movement and spiritual rejuvenation. Whether you’re seeking peace, clarity, or simply a moment to breathe, The Re-Source Retreat (by Mud Lotus Arts, Soundtree Journey & friends) might just be the reset you need.
